Khandace Wilkerson
Khandace Wilkerson was born and raised in Dorchester, MA. She is the product of the Boston Public School system, graduating Boston Latin Academy this year. Throughout her high school journey, Khandace has involved herself in many community based organizations. She has been part of Camp Harbor View since 2017, where she enjoyed two summers as a camper before joining their 9th grade RISE program. Khandace recently graduated from their 3-year Leader in Training program and will serve as a staff member this upcoming summer. In addition, Khandace has volunteered as a mentor for the Big Sisters Association of Greater Boston, worked alongside Boston City Councilor Julia Mejia on her campaign, became an ambassador for GirlsGiveBack Boston and in her senior year, served as the president of the Black Student Union at her high school. With these opportunities, Khandace has been able to meet and engage with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. This has sparked her interest in pursuing a career in civic engagement which she will begin in the fall as she continues her educational journey at the University of Massachusetts Boston studying political science and sociology. At the young and bright age of 18, Khandace has found her purpose and passion in being the reason someone believes in good people. |
