
Tim Phillips
Tim Phillips is the founder and CEO of Beyond Conflict, where he has led efforts in peacebuilding and reconciliation since 1992, working in countries such as Northern Ireland, El Salvador, Kosovo, and South Africa. He has advised major global institutions, including the United Nations, the U.S. Department of State, and the Council of Europe, on democratization, conflict resolution, and national reconciliation.
In the private sector, Phillips co-founded Energia Global International, a pioneer in privately owned renewable energy facilities in Central and South America. He also played a key role in launching the Club of Madrid, which brings together over 100 former heads of state to promote democracy worldwide.
Beyond his work in conflict resolution, Phillips serves on the boards of numerous cultural and educational institutions, including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and the Frameworks Institute. He is a frequent speaker at global forums such as the Council on Foreign Relations and the U.S. Congress and has lectured at Harvard, Columbia, and Brandeis. His work with Beyond Conflict was featured in the PBS documentary *The Visionaries*, and he has appeared as a commentator on NPR, BBC World Service, and Radio RTE Ireland.
Phillips was educated at Suffolk University and the London School of Economics and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Suffolk University in 2018.
